Through his work, Josef Klumix does not seek to capture the truth of a moment, since it is not the capture of the real but works around its representation and aspires to grasp the essence of an image, that elusive soul invisible to the eyes but felt by the heart. His series "Underestimate" provides an opportunity to question our ability to overlook or minimize certain realities or drifts that our societies face. Our collective inability to resist the sirens of consumption, our lack of genuine and disinterested solidarity towards the most vulnerable peoples, the spiral of productivity that leads us to destroy our planet a little more each day… Although his creations draw from factual elements and occasionally borrow from the aesthetic of documentary photography, he constantly strives to offer a unique and striking vision.
