On the occasion of the launch of its gallery, Année Zéro organized its first exhibition, Terra Mirabilis from the 10th  to the 27th of July 2024 in Paris.

The exhibition was a free-for-all for the imagination of 22 artist explorers who are sailing on the ocean of AI-generated arts. A way to write a visual manifesto to go further into the unknown.

London-based AI photographer and creative director Sam
Finn, through his AI.S.A.M project, artfully uses AI to merge the real with the artificial, thereby challenging our perceptions of authenticity in virtual worlds. His pioneering work in AI photography, which captures moments within fabricated environments, goes beyond questioning traditional artistic boundaries; it actively blurs the lines between physical
and digital existence.

SIMON
LAVI

For over 20 years, Simon Lavi, a French photographer known by the nickname "Raion," has been exploring the intersection of art and technology. He deconstructs traditional photography, weaving reality and imagination into his digital canvases. Fueled by the "post-photography" movement, Simon adopts digital tools to challenge what photography really is, thereby creating unexplored images and narratives that challenge our perception.

Director and filmmaker passionate about visual storytelling, Pierre Zandrowicz has created award-winning works at prestigious festivals like SXSW, Sundance, and Tribeca. A pioneer of narrative fiction in virtual reality (VR), he produced the first VR fiction short film broadcast in Europe.

Pierre began his photographic journey at a group exhibition at the Rencontres d’Arles in France.

JOACHIM
BIEHLER

Born in 1981 in Strasbourg, Joachim lives and works in Paris. As often in his work, through photography, photo-montage and AI, Joachim captures a reference, an inheritance, a work.  Lightness, humor, fantasy even, characterize his work, which focuses on issues nevertheless central. Because, as it underlies common representations, the history of art has contri-buted to the imposition of models, born in the past and continuing to survive. It is time that art foils the models it has imposed to suggest others,

freer and more open.

Born and raised in England, Don Rjorke takes inspiration from the mundane world around him, combines it with the absurd, and grounds it in a cursed realism that fools your eyes akin to a magic trick - Your brain knows it isn’t real, but your eyes know what they saw. Its in this juxtaposition between the ordinary and the ridiculous that Don finds the most satisfaction, with AI combining the two in new and unexpected ways. In fact,

the best of his works are the images so abundant in absurdity yet so definitely close to reality.

"SELF-PORTRAIT" by BEYOND HUMAN features a selection of images from the MR NOODLES series. A unique character that prompts us to ponder questions of identity. It satirizes the societal norms and delves into the themes of difference and the gaze of others. In his solitude, Mr. Noodles expresses, with humor and melancholy, the feeling of not resembling others, of not fitting in. It's as if this deserted world has left him alone with his questions, or perhaps he has become invisible to the eyes of others.

OF ARTS

The colorful and poetic images created by the collective «The Council of Arts» paint an enchanting, almost timeless portrayal of a society in perfect harmony, where individuals, content and happy, seem to savor the pleasures and comforts of their existence. However, a closer look reveals a much more dreadful reality.

Beyond_Human belongs to

the first wave of AI artists that emerged in 2022, exploring new aesthetics and questioning our relationship with this new technology.

One of his favorite themes is the quest for identity, which

he approaches with humor

and finesse. Through series like «mass panic 1921» or «Revelation» Beyond_Human is questionning the truth of images. He highlights the dilemmas posed by new technologies. He explores distortions of reality by reinventing strange, future, or past events that, although fictional, appear authentic

to us. The boundary between truth and falsehood is no longer discernible.
